Dear prospective students, parents and friends,

As part of its strategic growth initiatives, the College of Engineering has launched a comprehensive aerospace engineering program, anchored by the new undergraduate major (presently hosted in the Department of Mechanical Engineering) and fueled by the increasing societal significance of aerospace-related technologies. The aerospace engineering major enrolled its inaugural freshman class in Fall 2022. Since then, the major has steadily grown to admit the brightest and most dedicated prospective aerospace engineers. We aspire to educate the next generation of aerospace engineering leaders and take active part in seeking to address major challenges in air transportation and space exploration.

We look forward to sharing more of what Berkeley’s dynamic and innovative aerospace engineering program has to offer.

Panos Papadopoulos
Faculty Director, Aerospace Engineering Programs

Tsu-Jae King-Liu
Dean of the College of Engineering
